Intensive Short-Term Dynamic Psychotherapy (ISTDP) was developed by Dr. Habib Davanloo and was the first school of psychotherapy in the group of therapies that are now called Experiential Dynamic Therapy (EDT), all of which have been strongly influenced by ISTDP. ISTDP is the only short term psychotherapy designed to meet the needs of a broad spectrum of outpatient conditions. Thus, this course is designed to acquaint students with Professor H. Davanloo's classification of psychoneurotic disorders from Low Resistance, single focus cases through Moderately Resistant Cases to Severe Character Neurosis. The course will define “Fragile” Cases as well as extending to the diagnosis and treatment of Borderline Conditions.
